1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using RaccoonType (“we”, “us”, or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
2. The Service
RaccoonType is an independently engineered typing and competitive performance platform offering:
- Multiple typing test modes (timed sprints, word counts, quotes)
- Real-time multiplayer party races (2–8 players) and ranked 1v1 matchmaking
- Deterministic typing analytics and an optional AI Typing Coach
- Code-typing practice across 11 programming languages
- Daily global challenges, boss trials, tournaments, and seasonal clan battles
- Public leaderboards and personal performance tracking
3. User Accounts & Self-Service Deletion
You may use RaccoonType as a guest without creating an account. If you register an account:
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- You may permanently delete your account and associated personal data at any time via the Danger Zone on your Account page.
4. Acceptable Use & Fair Play
RaccoonType leaderboards and ranked matchmaking are intended to measure genuine human typing performance. You agree not to:
- Use automated scripts, bots, macro recorders, or mechanical aids to take tests or complete races.
- Exploit software bugs, manipulate client timestamps, or artificially inflate WPM or accuracy metrics.
- Harass, threaten, demean, or abuse other players in multiplayer races, clans, or public profiles.
- Impersonate other individuals, community members, or organizations.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the service without written authorization.
- Interfere with server infrastructure, launch denial-of-service attacks, or bypass API rate limits.
5. Leaderboard & Competitive Integrity
To maintain competitive fairness, we reserve the right to:
- Analyze and cross-check submitted test telemetry for statistical integrity.
- Quarantine or invalidate suspicious, non-human, or automated test results.
- Reset ranked ratings or terminate accounts that engage in cheating or matchmaking manipulation.
6. Virtual Currency & Cosmetic Items
RaccoonType features an in-game virtual currency (“Coins”) and digital cosmetic rewards (such as badges, banners, and profile titles):
- No Real-Money Purchases: Coins are earned solely through gameplay achievements, daily challenges, and ranked progression. RaccoonType does not process real-money payments or offer paid coin bundles.
- No Cash Value: Coins and cosmetic items have no monetary value, cannot be redeemed or exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred outside the platform.
- Limited License: Cosmetic items are licensed, not sold, for personal, non-commercial in-game display. We reserve the right to manage, adjust, or correct virtual balances in cases of exploits, bugs, or fair play enforcement.
7. AI-Generated Practice Content
Custom practice passages generated via the AI Typing Coach are created programmatically for educational and typing practice purposes. Practice passages are provided on an “as-is” basis and may occasionally contain factual errors, unusual phrasing, or imperfect text.
8. Intellectual Property & Third-Party Content
RaccoonType, its mascot, branding, and platform code are our intellectual property.
- Sound Packs: Mechanical keyboard sound packs bundled with RaccoonType are licensed under open licenses (including MIT and GNU GPL-3.0). Full source attribution and license texts are published on our Audio Credits page.
- User Content: You retain ownership of custom text topics you submit for drills. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive license to process that text to deliver your practice session.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
RaccoonType is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RaccoonType and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.
10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Subject to applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction that cannot be lawfully waived by contract, you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When updates occur, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. Continued use of RaccoonType after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
